(10,952 posts)Trumps's continuing total lack of judgment needs to be hung around his neck (and the necks of everyone around him).
The way a candidate staff's his/her campaign is a pretty good indication of how he/she would fill positions in an administration. Imagine what a Trump administration would look like.
It might be worth a PAC organization to make arrangements for the movie The Manchurian Candidate to be played at select theaters in select locations. And as the credits begin to roll at the end, flash up a spot on political ad.

AND the blonde bimbo that has inundated the tv channels talking non-stop over everybody else
is now the campaign chairman (shouldn't that be chairwoman? or is she not of the female gender? )
I guess he could be relieved of one or more of his campaign heads and it would all be okay!

(23,677 posts)scheme. That could have some blow back on the Clinton's campaign because John Podesta, Tony's brother, is Chairman of the HRC presidential campaign. I'm sure the "liberal biased" press will find some way to draw HRC into this this.
After being introduced to the lobbying firms, the European nonprofit paid the Podesta Group $1.13 million between June 2012 and April 2014 to lobby Congress, the White House National Security Council, the State Department and other federal agencies, according to U.S. lobbying records.
The nonprofit also paid $1.07 million over roughly the same period to Mercury to lobby Congress. Among other issues, Mercury opposed congressional efforts to pressure Ukraine to release one of Yanukovych's political rivals from prison.
One former Podesta employee, speaking on condition of anonymity because of a non-disclosure agreement, said Gates described the nonprofit's role in an April, 2012 meeting as supplying a source of money that could not be traced to the Ukrainian politicians who were paying him and Manafort.

(7,901 posts)3 of his associates felt otherwise. It's not good for either Manafort, Gates or Podesta since it seems all were aware of the degree of deception involved in how the money was laundered, and were also cognizant of the connection of that money to Yanukovych and his allies.
Fla Dem
(23,677 posts)You post....
"It says Podesta knew of the source but declared it was not a problem. 3 of his associates felt otherwise."
This that you put in your response, is enough to raise the specter of some shady dealings. You then go onto say exactly what I stated. Podesta's firm was aware and it could throw shade on his firm, and as the media likes to do implicate John Podesta so they have a HRC story as well.
Another instance of both sides do it, and she's just as corrupt as Trump.
I'm not sure what you think I missed. But if you still think I misunderstood the article, please let me know.
Ford_Prefect
(7,901 posts)You appear to suggest a false equivalence that I did not. I said what the story did.
Tony Podesta is a political operative with well documented history of working dark deals for clients when it suited him to do so. I think Podesta likely does what he thinks will work and likely doesn't burden his clients with those decisions.
All three operatives are known for their access and their willingness to play the dark side of the political game. Podesta and Manafort are knowing associates of Gates in the influence pedaling game. According to the AP story both were aware of the route by which the funds were delivered and the purpose of that deception to disguise the source of the funds. It was stated in the AP story that way.
I know from personal experience that the money and power involved leads people to do what ever they think they can get away with. I worked on the John Edwards campaign.
There is no boundary separating the GOP from the Democratic Party in this. It is the in nature of modern political environment that it occurs. That doesn't make it right nor should we accept it being done in our names.
The AP article doesn't say that John Podesta knew of the deal. I don't know that he did or did not. I find it illogical that he would not be aware of it given his relationship to Tom and the firm. I think the real question to ask if you must is what has John been doing for Hillary which may have been influenced by Tom.
I have no interest in seeing Hillary fail or Trump win. I didn't invent nor do I approve of bending the rules to suit political ends. That doesn't mean that others will not do so.
