I Know Trump's New Campaign Chairman, Steve Bannon. Here's What You Need To Know.

On Wednesday, the Trump campaign shifted top campaign staff: the new CEO of the campaign is, predictably and hilariously, Steven K. Bannon, the current chairman of Breitbart News. I have a bit of experience with Bannon, given that I was the editor-at-large of Breitbart News for four years, and worked closely with Breitbart and Bannon.

1. Steve Bannon Turned Breitbart Into Trump Pravda For His Own Personal Gain.

4. Breitbart’s Staff Lusts After Trump Involvement.

5. Under Bannon’s Leadership, Breitbart Openly Embraced The White Supremacist Alt-Right.

7. Trump’s Campaign Strategy Could Be The Launch Of A New Media Outlet.

8. Bannon Is A Legitimately Sinister Figure.

And so much more...

Sure don't see or hear much outta him anymore, and he used to be everybody's darling.

LONG AGO, I remember visiting KNBC (local NBC here) and strolling through the newsroom and noticed, on a couple of people's screens, The Drudge Report. They were reading that while they were doing other stuff, either writing or lining up production notes or something, to prepare for the local evening newscast. I ardently wanted to say something but didn't see any opening to do so. But even back then, I felt - "hmmm.... the infection is spreading..."

Andrew Breitbart called Trump's new campaign CEO Steve Bannon, "the Leni Riefenstahl of the Tea Party movement." Riefenstahl was a NAZI.

From Stone to Lewandowski to Manafort and now Bannon.

It's as though "scumbag" is a written part of the job description.

Still, the fact that Breitbart News wouldn't stand up for its own reporter when she was assaulted by Trump's then campaign manager/chief goon Doug Stamper--err I mean Corey Lewandowski--speaks volumes of the wretched condition of that wretched organization.

Bannon, Ailes, Manafort...

Not to mention this undercuts everything Trump says about being an outsider. He clearly wants to control media.

I'll give him one thing. I despise her but Kellyann Conway is good at interviews. Well, better. She can pull up details and talk over people at the same time.

But man, the disarray. I can't imagine even the foaming-at-the-mouth supporters not going "Really?"

Many former employees of Breitbart News are afraid of Steve Bannon. He is a vindictive, nasty figure, infamous for verbally abusing supposed friends and threatening enemies. Bannon is a smarter version of Trump: he’s an aggressive self-promoter who name-drops to heighten his profile and woo bigger names, and then uses those bigger names as stepping stools to his next destination. Trump may be his final destination. Or it may not. He will attempt to ruin anyone who impedes his unending ambition, and he will use anyone bigger than he is – for example, Donald Trump – to get where he wants to go. Bannon knows that in the game of thrones, you win or die. And he certainly doesn’t intend to die. He’ll kill everyone else before he goes.
