not just erase away everything Trump has said over the past 15 months. He kept saying is too, that people are not that stupid and would not forget everything that he's said in the past. He reminded them that people are not stupid and they don't have amnesia. Joe tried the ole "but it wasn't the Trump I know" and Deutsch countered with (paraphrasing) "it's almost as bad to be willing to play that character in order to get votes."
