As cynical and disgusting as it is, giving condescending speeches in 95% white towns that tell black people what white people THINK should be told to black people, serves only one purpose:

Giving white, Republican-leaning people who are currently repulsed and can't in good conscience support Trump, the flimsy excuse they need, the mental permission, to come home for the Republicans again.

His fraudulent Trump University and its victims?
That he can't get loans from US banks and is using Russian oligarchs' money to finance his projects?
That he has stated he would lead the US to default on our borrowings?
That his tax returns, if revealed, would cause a mass exodus of campaign support?
That he praises dangerous dictators and wants to implement their autocratic style of government in the US, including ending free speech?
That he doesn't understand the point of having, but not using, nuclear weapons?
That our security is also tied to security of NATO nations?
That his proposed budget increases US debt?
That he has fidelity (trustworthy) issues?

Donny Deutch and Joe Scarborough are concerned that the hyperbolic, bigotted Trump on the campaign trail isn't the lovely guy they personally know, and that we won't be able to forget Trump's hate speech. They are missing the point: it's not so much what trump says, it's what he's done, how badly he's lived his life and run his business.
