The Governor doesn't want visits and told Trump that in no uncertain terms.

but all the same, I think Hillary's team dropped the ball. As soon as they knew Trump was going to visit, despite what the governor said, she should have been down there, too.

I hope Trump's visit doesn't push any undecided LA voters over to the dark side.

...is misguided at best and suicidal at worst.

HRC has sent out emails to her supporters directing them to organizations that the Gov of Louisiana says can help, and explaining what she is doing.

The Gov was on MSNBC yesterday saying how much the federal government was helping, how responsive the president has been, and which agencies (many) have their people on the ground doing their jobs. The Gov also said he specifically asked the Prez to not drop in for at least two weeks, because it would take at least 3,000 first responders away from their jobs to provide security and other services, would involve road closures, and on and on.

Meanwhile, DTs has shown up for a photo op giving out single serve juice boxes?!

But politically I believe Trump's photo op helped him more than her disregarding the governor's request to stay away would have hurt her. It was an empty, cynical move on Trump's part, but just showing up when there's been a tragedy does persuade some voters that the guy who shows up "cares" about them more than the guy who does the sensible, correct thing--even when the sensible person raises tons of money for disaster relief. The people who were cheering Trump and making disparaging remarks about Obama will not make the connection between any relief funds they receive and the Democratic party. They will remember Trump's visit.

where he was recorded helping unload vital Play-Doh from a truck for 30 seconds?

Only people who already support him will buy that crap.

The LA Gov asked that we support the effort through known charity work - like the Red Cross..he doesn't need to take his security resources away from the effort in LA....like ballless Trump made him do with his fly by night visit....

No, Hillary did not drop the ball......

I'm talking about political expedience. Trump benefitted from his stupid, pointless, distracting, wasteful trip to LA, and I bet we'll see the Republicans use that visit to demonstrate how HRC doesn't care about flood victims and how Obama would rather play golf than tend to a natural disaster.

Southern states don't realize it, but California ranks as a major "donor state" in regards to federal taxes -- we give a lot more than we get back.

I approve of my taxes going for disaster relief wherever needed, but while the money is being doled out, could we please get a whole bunch of planes and helicopters for water-dropping and Phos-check dropping? Our counties are sharing as much equipment as possible, but the fleet is aging badly.
