A new national poll released Friday shows Hillary Clinton leading Donald Trump by ten points nationally.
Clinton is ahead of Trump 50 percent to 40 percent in a head-to-head match-up, according to a poll commissioned by End Citizens United, a liberal-leaning public interest group working to rid large money from politics.
In a four-way race with Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson and Green Party candidate Jill Stein, Clinton's lead is reduced to eight points. Clinton receives 45 percent to Trump's 37 percent. Johnson polls at eight percent and Stein at four percent.
As concerns grow about Trump's drag on Republicans running down ballot, this poll shows there's reason for concern. Democrats lead Republicans when asked which party they' d vote for in a Congressional race by seven points: 48 - 41 percent.

Love this one - just need more like it to establish a permanent 8-10 point barrier. Hmm...what would you call a barrier like that?

(19,066 posts)No polls have shown significant tightening. It's just the last several polls are all the right leaning ones that didn't ever show a big Clinton lead. When the next set of the major polls come out we'll see. WSJ, CBS, even FOX, or Marist.

(44,173 posts)but how seriously will that be taken given that it was a liberal group that commissioned the poll?

(3,072 posts)They likely didnt do it themselves. You and I could commission a poll, as long as we had the money. We would pay a company to do it for us

(58,670 posts)That's kind of a holy grail of campaigns. You don't always see that number in the polls, usually it's in the 40's. I like it.
