(1,325 posts)The media has been striving for a "horse race" from the get-go. And why haven't the PTB been investigating STFU Donny since he jumped into the race? To get more people to watch the TV machine and see more commercials, that's what is seems like?
STFU Donny should have been toast right out of the gate. This whole election smacks of a rigged game show.

(89,249 posts)But what matters is how she is doing in this election against the other candidate who is running. And in this case she is doing just fine.
Obama may have done better with young voters compared to Clinton. But clinton does better with women. Especially white women.

(12,412 posts)Millennials need to assume responsibility for our current political climate. With the power they have, if they vote in large enough numbers as a political block, they could already have set the national agenda. The Republican control of House and Senate came about due to a dismal turnout of progressives in 2010. It is difficult to imagine how different our world would be now if our young adult population had stepped up and taken a more active role.

(2,678 posts)I should've voted in the 80's. Sadly, I didn't. My very first vote was for Jimmy Carter. I wish we would've had a big turnout in the 2010 midterms. I believe we, as a nation, would not be in the shape we are today. Congressional, Rethug, inaction/obstruction has much to do with it.

(9,527 posts)It's how many of them will vote? Winning them by 30 points is great if they turn out in proportion to their size in the overall population. Winning them by 30 points if they vote substantially less than their size in the overall population is less great.

(46,192 posts)in other words, those leads are just as likely to materialize as the results in the other age groups i posted.

(146,308 posts)Historically, though, that age group has always had the lowest turnout percentages of any age group. It's not just millennials, it's all young potential voters, regardless of the time period.
How can we fix that? I have no idea at all.
CreekDog
(46,192 posts)it says they have to vote in the likely percentages.
high is better, obviously.

(146,308 posts)would accomplish more than simply ensuring a Clinton win. It could affect the outcome of many, many down-ticket races as well. Further, an outstanding turnout of millennials could break a long cycle of the youngest adult segment of our population being ignored by the political system.
Hillary Clinton is going to be our next President, either way. But, there are more advantages to a landslide victory aided by a demographic which votes in lower numbers than any other age group. I'd like to see that happen, for many reasons.
