It is great we are winning, but

Last edited Sat Oct 1, 2016, 02:25 PM - Edit history (1)

Frankly, seeing the way the media has cheered Trump on for ten thousand reasons (money being chief among them) we need to ensure that in the final lap we finish with a clear lead that anyone can see. Even if it is a photo finish, the media will do their best to say Trump won by a nose. When I say the media, I mean both the internet, but also the venerable Grey eminences of newsprint and boob tube that have shown an embarrassing lack of competence.

In the Federalist Papers, the authors warned of those who have a "vested interest in disorder.". Do not fall for the crocodile tears that MSNBC'S talking heads will cry that Wednesday morning when they pretend to ask "how the hell did this happen?". Their coffee will be stained with blood, but they will have to pretend like a Trump administration is not the equivalent of a gravy train.

Point blank, we know that Ohio and Florida are homes to some of the most ruthless political operatives the GOP has. Yes, John Kasich hates Trump, but that does not mean the Ohio political machine is not ready to take orders and take cash. Florida, honestly, Rick Scott knows that if he can steal the state, he is ready for glory, and the fact Pam Bondi managed to get away with a bribe even after a series of crimes that would have destroyed most careers only make things worse. Rick knows that a lot of old Dixie and new Florida would rather drink Toxic Water and have heavy gun violence than vote Hillary. That should have been a figure of speech, but it is the literal truth. Yes many in Florida are sick of this, which is why we are a Blue State come Presidential elections, but, we know damned well there are folks willing to repeat the 2000 atrocity.

that works for democratic party way better than calling it a hillary "landslide" as that framing will allow some of our voters not to get off their asses and vote

path to victory and that is if Democratic voters fail to turn out either due to complacency and over confidence or low enthusiasm. Just the thought of him in office, though, is so horrifying that even people who don't jump up and down for Hillary will "enthusiastically" vote for her this nov.

Who knows who will be winning next week?

Anything can happen. This has been the most up and down campaign season I've ever seen. One week Hillary coughs and faints while a lucid, presidential Trump capitalizes. The next week a healthy Hillary shines at the debates while a deranged Trump engages in unhinged 3:00 am tweeting.

It's freaking nuts.

We're winning? Not until election day.

Is much wilder and more destructive than the 'anything' that might happen with Clinton. And frankly, it's Trump who's riding the nihilist train that has him running straight into the side of a mountain.

But no, I'm not going to relax until Clinton banks vote 270 in the Electoral College.

As I have said many times, most recently in a similar to this OP last night, WE have to be the media.

They've been exhibiting a level of ratings and money driven incompetence and irresponsibility this election cycle that has made them as deplorable as most of Donald Rump's more rabid cultists. In fact, they HAVE been Donald Rump cultists!

PEACE!

A Clinton presidency will matter more if we support her with a Democratic congress and Democratic state govs. Here in Texas, still to this date, we still have no medicaid expansion, thanks to hateful corrupt GOP governor and legislature. The GOP will obstruct a Clinton presidency -- just like the Obama presidency -- maybe even more. We need to give HRC the best gift ever by voting a straight Dem ticket all up and down the ballot.

I no longer think the GOP is capable of losing and moving on. They still cannot believe they lost any elections in modern memory, save for Mitt, and that is because Mitt was rejected by evangelicals for being a Mormon. When Hillary wins, they will try to spend 4 years shutting down the government so that they can say "hey look, people are broke!", and it will be because they have spent almost a decade trying to break the government and obstruct.

We need to deliver a hard defeat. I do not mean a loss, but the sort of deep tissue damage that makes the opponent have to walk with a limp or cane. Harsh, yes, but frankly, we have had their heels on our throat for too damned long, and so has the rest of the world.
