Dem and GOP Strategists Speculate that Trump is Intentionally Self Sabotaging the Campaign

Part of a broader story on the impact of the tax revelations

“What we’re seeing is somebody who’s blowing himself apart in real time,” said Peter Wehner, a strategist and scholar who served in the administrations of the last three Republican presidents. “It’s a pretty extraordinary thing to see. It’s a political death wish, as if at some deep level he doesn’t want to be president.”

Wehner added, “It’s gnawing on him that he could become what he has contempt for, and that is a loser.”

Mo Elleithee, a Democratic strategist who runs Georgetown University’s Institute of Politics and Public Service, said, “Political operatives and strategists are going to study this week for generations as the textbook case of self-sabotage.”

2. It's not sabotage he is as crazy as he appears to be. He is in the grip of a manic compulsive mania

People with his personality disorder cannot stop once they fixate on something

While a political and racist comparison of Trump to Hitler is arguable, he fit's Hitler's personality like a T

No pun intended

12. He's not in touch with his inner self. He does not know what to sabotage. In a way, you could

call him transparent. We see him as he really is. He can't hide anything of his personality. I don't want to speculate why.

3. Excuses, excuses. No, Trump is just another screw up who want to replace Obama.

He's just the screw up who made the most noise, sucked up all the oxygen, and became the driver of the clown car known as the Republican Party. With a two-way primary he'd be forgotten already. One-on-one, even Jeb Bush would have flushed him away.

Running for president is just another feather in his cap to increase his corporate brand, better his chances for another reality TV show. All about money, he could care less if he wins.

9. Oh boy, did the Koch brothers really fuck things up by creating the Tea Party.

It's so nice to see that money will eventually eat itself alive.
Greed, ego, hate, racism, lies...it's all there.
We're lucky it was from someone as obnoxious and idiotic as Trump: if it were someone more clever and level-headed, we'd be in deep trouble.

10. The Tea Party rebranding after the Bush fiasco did not change who runs the Republicans

Big Oil was there all along, the most powerful corporatists, and they just needed to obfuscate the Bush brand because it was totally toxic. The label shifted to a new, false identity, their abysmal failure remains the same.
