PUEBLO, Colo. – Donald Trump said Monday that “race riots” are happening every month amid deep divisions across the country, apparently referring to protests that have erupted in response to police violence against minorities.

“We’re a divided nation and each week it seems we’re getting more and more divided,” Trump said at a rally here. “[We see] race riots on our streets on a monthly basis. Somebody said don’t call them race riots, but that’s what they are. They’re race riots. And it’s happening more and more.”

Trump then listed some cities where protests have erupted in response to fatal police shootings of African Americans, like Ferguson, Mo., and Charlotte.

Trump sought to pitch himself as a champion of minority voters, saying that what is happening to African Americans and Hispanics is “very, very unfair.”

no coherency, no consistency, no logic, yet people still support him in his bid to be PRESIDENT of the UNITED effing STATES of AMERICA!!

I had been mostly avoiding the political news over the past few months, and now I remember why. The realization that this jumble of BS passes as the speech of someone of the quality needed to lead a nation is just too depressing. The lousy, worse-than-useless mass media has led us to this with their lame infotainment and "reality" tv, glorifying idiocy, their refusal to fact check, their false equivalencies, their pushing an unthinking, irresponsible consumer culture as an ideal. It's just so appalling.
