Because he doesn't want the job - never did.

Trump has insulted/alienated pretty much every demographic. That is not the behaviour of someone who WANTS to win.

Being POTUS? There's nothing in it for Donald. There is no up-side. He doesn't want the restrictions to his lifestyle, the scrutiny, the responsibilities.

Every time he says/does something outrageous - like dissing vets today - it's like he's flashing a neon sign that says DON'T VOTE FOR ME.

I'm sure he never thought he'd wind up as the Republican nominee - and now he's doing his best to get his neck out of that noose.

According to tax experts on O'Donnell, in 1995 he claimed only about @$3.5 MILLION in business income, $7 MILLION in interest income, suggesting something like $100 million in assets at that time. Since then he's mostly been licensing use of his name and hiring out to star in a TV show.

(Btw, apparently that $914 million loss wasn't actually HIS money -- it was borrowed money on highly leveraged assets, borrowed from banks, mismanaged and lost. AND, he makes too little to ever be able to write off all these losses against taxes -- this enormous tax loss was horribly mismanaged also. He was advised in 1990 to in effect "sell" much of the losses he was claiming then to investors and make some money back on them that way.

Also btw, he only paid himself $6000 salary that year, a way of scamming the Social Security and Medicare systems.)

So, if THAT gets around his conservative admirers who see him as extremely competent because he's so good at business, oh, yes, this is going to be tRump's terrible, horrible, no good, very bad week.
