43-37 Economist/YouGov generic congressional ballot. Is 6 points enough to take back the house or not quite?

1. No not enough

The district lines are gerrymandered to a degree that heavily favors Republican, a result of them dominating state legislatures during the Census period in 2010.

3. Generic ballots are irrelevant in the House

Incumbency and gerrymandering are what matter. We're not getting control of the House anytime soon.

4. There's an outside possibility

The real question of this election is whether Republicans will be discouraged enough to stay home and whether Democrats will be motivated enough to turn out. I think there's a reasonable chance that could happen, but there are also many other possibilities.

5. no way a large enough lead based on a national average, its goes back to

individual house seats and whether they are competitive. If all democrats get out and vote....we could have a perfect storm of opportunity to retake the House, I think its safe to say the Democrats will gain the Senate....
