(617 posts)The district lines are gerrymandered to a degree that heavily favors Republican, a result of them dominating state legislatures during the Census period in 2010.

(2,097 posts)Incumbency and gerrymandering are what matter. We're not getting control of the House anytime soon.

(5,636 posts)The real question of this election is whether Republicans will be discouraged enough to stay home and whether Democrats will be motivated enough to turn out. I think there's a reasonable chance that could happen, but there are also many other possibilities.

(10,437 posts)individual house seats and whether they are competitive. If all democrats get out and vote....we could have a perfect storm of opportunity to retake the House, I think its safe to say the Democrats will gain the Senate....
