Reform the Filibuster

Far too often, we've seen good ideas stall in the Senate because a single Senator can stop everything without a single word uttered on the Senate floor.

In a few short weeks, we can reform the filibuster. But it won't be easy. And it's going to require that the American people speak with one, clear, loud voice.

Take action now: Tell the Senate to fix the filibuster.

Thank you.
Senator Jeff Merkley
Senator Tom Udall
Senator Kirsten Gillibrand
Senator Tom Harkin
Senator-elect Elizabeth Warren

And, to add insult to injury, the American people voted overwhelmingly Democratic for Congress. We must keep hammering that fact home.

The mandate is for the Dems in Congress too!

"Signing" a web-petition will make you feel good, and will ACCOMPLISH NOTHING. If anyone seriously wants to change the Senate rules, close your web browser and CONTACT THE SENATORS DIRECTLY. Compose a letter or an email IN YOUR OWN WORDS and send it to their office, or pick up the phone and talk to their staff. Personally, I've discussed this with Reid, Warren, Murphy, Kaine, Donnelly, Brown, Baldwain, Heitkamp, McCaskill, Tester and Cantwell. I've also made it clear to DSCC that anyone who opposes reform will be off my contribution list.

Handwritten as well.
A handwritten letter, to elected officials, equate to what is figured to be 100 individuals with the same viewpoint. So if you send a handwritten letter, that woul be the same as 100 people voicing the same opinion
Typed or out-of-the-printer letter is a one-to-one.
