Cooper, Raddatz set to make first questions of debate about Trump tape

The first set of questions at Sunday night's presidential debate will be about Donald Trump's vulgar comments on a newly published 2005 videotape, and the fallout from it.

And Hillary Clinton will get the first question.

Moderators Anderson Cooper of CNN and Martha Raddatz of ABC have adjusted their plan for the debate in light of the Trump tape, sources told CNNMoney.

While everything is subject to change until air time, an ABC source said -- perhaps confirming the obvious -- that Trump and Clinton will both be prompted to address the matter.

Might as well get it out of the way. But what a tone it will set, for the rest of the debate Siwsan Oct 2016 #3

Good. It takes the pressure off Hillary about when, how or whether to bring it up. anamandujano Oct 2016 #9

I believe Hillary goes first. I hope she says everybody deserves to be treated with dignity and leave it at that.

MODERATOR: Secretary Clinton, you've seen the videotape of Mr. Trump's comments about groping women. How do you respond to this revelation?
HILLARY CLINTON: First, I'd like to thank the Commission for Presidential Debates for organizing this event. I'd also like to thank everyone here and at home watching this important part of our democracy. Lastly, thank you to the moderators for their thoughtful preparation for tonight's discussion. Regarding your question, I find Mr. Trump's comments extraordinary. Accordingly, I yield my time to him to explain himself. Thank you.

ETA: A tip o' the hat to SNL.

This is the new meme. Snopes calls it a "Mixture," but a lot is true -- although hyperbole. The one about the Mar A Lago is really BS. The rest of it was just publicity, or didn't really cost him a nickel.
