Trump surrogates on my TV keep brining up Richard Nixon,

comparing Trump's current scandal to that time Nixon almost got kicked off the vice presidential ticket for shady campaign finance practices and then came back from the brink by making a good speech.

This is bad, right? If the best spin they can come up with is a comparison to RICHARD "I am not a crook" NIXON?
