I would be shocked if Michelle or Barack took another office in government.

Michelle is not going to run for POTUS. That office is given neither through blood nor marriage. I believe that there's a document, dated July 4, 1776, that expresses those exact sentiments (among many others at the time).

Jason Kander is the Democratic Secretary of State in Missouri. He's running for US Senate against incumbent Roy Blount (R, of course). He's an excellent up and comer!
