There is a fundamental disconnect between the Republican Party and its voters

The voters were the ones that overwhelmingly favored Trump this year. They were the standard bearers of decades of hate radio and other right wing media propaganda.

The Republican Party, always moving towards consensus, always placing party before country, simply signed off on the deal, hoping that this populist movement they were watching would catch on and reverberate throughout the election cycle.

They gambled, and they lost bigly.

Had they followed their own advice as learned from the 2012 post-mortem and nominated a moderate conservative that attempted to reach out beyond their historical demographics, HRC would have had a time of it this year. But thankfully, the Republicans shot themselves in the foot yet again. They're not much on learning from their past mistakes, and that's a bonus for our side.

The thing is, those voters that steered the election to the fringe right will not change, will not moderate their opinions or their fervor. They are the cancer that has infected the GOP body politic, and they will eventually destroy it. They are the modern American Fascist Party, and that's where they'll eventually manifest, from the eviscerated tissues remaining from the RNC.

The Blue Wave is going to waterboard the Republican Party; not quite drowning, but it sure as hell will feel that way. It's another step in cleansing ourselves from the obstructionist, corrupt and hateful pariahs that insisted on turning America into something perverse and reprehensible, akin to the darkness of their souls.

into a center-right and a nationalist party.

Trump is going to grab his piece of this pie.
He will have to be in a war with FNC for followers.
