2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWTF is wrong with Trump?
He holds a rally in Gettysburg today, supposedly to lay out his plan for the first 100 days * snicker*cough* in office.
Before he's done, he goes back to the stupid "Mexico will pay for the wall" red meat hype, then wades back into the GropeGate swamp and how he will sue everyone in sight. Whatever "worthwhile" message he had is completely lost in the crazy talk.
I swear, he doesn't want to win, he really can't be serious.........

(1,372 posts)He can't. Everyone keeps advising him to control himself, and he tries, but before long, he simply can't help it. He's an entitled, emotionally immature bully with the cognitive control of a toddler. I really don't think he's capable of suppressing his impulses the way most of us can. Something is seriously wrong with the guy, either because of the way he's wired and/or a because of a 70 year lifetime of behavior and experiences that has created this monster we now see. To me, this is the biggest reason why we have to fight tooth and nail to make sure this guy isn't president. He would be truly dangerous, given his lack of control..

(2,404 posts)You are exactly correct... He cannot control his impulses. Some of it is due to the way he was raised.

it's really that simple
no control whatsoever, and this childish churlishness is what, without doubt, what did him in

(4,673 posts)cared about the first 100 days ... others around him did and sent him out with a paper to read them. Trump doesn't even care about it if he wins, Pence and Bannon do, because they're the ones who would be running things <shiver>.
Trump just cares about adoring crowds, flying around in a better jet than he has, and other amenities.

(4,642 posts)that is what all this is building up to, just using the election to build his own hype channel/s & there's a lot of dummies out there who will pay to watch it. I',m sure he will have lots of nutjobs on it inciting violence, sedition, secession.
moonscape
(4,673 posts)was shopping the idea around, and there are media guys around him ... I'm still wondering if this will really fly.
Oh, I don't doubt they'll attempt it, but it seems to me his average supporter might not be nearly as interested in him after all this dies down, and ... doesn't live in an area where they have ready fast internet and technical interest to plug in. A traditional cable outlet would be too costly and I can't imagine Comcast, et al picking it up anyway.
TrumpTV might not be a SlamDunk!

(7,570 posts)As I've said a million times, if the KKK could have started their own cable channel, they would have done so a long time ago.
When Trump gets humiliated in this election, you will be hard pressed to find people who will openly admit to having voted for him. No one wants to be associated with a huge loser. And the rest of us don't want to see his ugly mug or listen to his whining ever again. I doubt very much that TV sponsors will want to bank on that. Not even Putin wants to throw good money after bad.

(25,857 posts)would just be another reality show. One that he could control completely, including the outcome.
Like a lot of people who are successful in one field, he assumed he would be successful in everything he would do. Of course, just how successful he really has been is open to a lot of question and asterisks. Nonetheless, he simply hasn't a clue how politics really works.

(16,887 posts).... Existed and that he is appealing to the people who "lost" and feel the civil war lost was when America stopped being great.
And that just like he threw out the red meat at the 3rd debate to the Pro-life folks, being in Gettysburg is red meat for the confederate loving racist supporters out there. That is scary.
