Trump’s window is closing
With 15 days to go, polls show Clinton is on track for an easy win.

With two weeks to go, Donald Trump’s path to an Election Night win is almost entirely closed.

Hillary Clinton enters the final 15 days of the race safely ahead in states worth more than 270 electoral votes. Indeed, the suspense of this final stretch is less about whether Trump can turn it around than how many down-ballot Republicans he will drag down with him.

“Trump is done,” said Republican operative Jim Dornan, who advised the New York businessman in the preparatory stages of his campaign last year. “Barring something completely out of the blue, like Hillary being involved in a murder, I don’t see how he wins.”

1. Trump surrounded himself with professional Clinton-haters, not real campaign managers

Is there a single person left on his senior staff that has any real credentials in major campaigns?

No professional would have allowed him to go for a week in a twitter war with a beauty contestant. No professional would have let him come off as such a jerk in the debates. No professional manager would let him rail about the rigged elections, as this discourages his base from voting.

But we all know, Trump has such hubris that he would never take any advice from one of these professionals, so he ends up with the Britebart guy in charge and that blonde lady, who is totally disconnected from reality.

now than not. It has been devolving at an exponential rate since the 90s, when they actually worked hard at their bullshit intellectual rationalisms, constitutionality, states rights. It was like they all had pocket notes to recite specific talking points based on the discussion.

Then in the 2000s, post 9-11, they got lazy and just ran around screaming that you either supported their lunacy or you hated america and were in league with terrorists.

Then, BHO got elected and they have spent the last 8 years just throwing hissy fits.

Frankly, right now, they are pretty much simply an angry, rudderless opposition party.

Trump is obviously the extreme version of it, but it is closer to what the republican party as a whole is than not.

I agree with what you are saying about the GOP, except that Trump inhabited that intellectual corpse for his own purposes.

he is a high level con man, and a good con man knows the key to any con is the mark, hence him picking the republican party.

But, he didn't happen to them. He got nominated, and he got nominated because he spoke in a much more direct way about the abhorrent shit they have been talking about in a prettied up way, dog whistling and winking at for my entire life.

IOW a majority of pissed off whites were supposed to just be waiting for a demagogue racist leader to come along and MAGA.

Fricken idiots!

Drumpf thought he didn't need to pivot to broaden his appeal. Sean Hannity assured him all of America would join him on his Hate crusade.

I shudder to think who the republicans will nominate the next time, if they survive as a party in the next 4 years anyway.
