Trump scams $17 mill from Ins Claim.

$17 million insurance for Trump club hurricane damage. 'Never seriously damaged,' former butler says:

PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Donald Trump said he received a $17 million insurance payment in 2005 for hurricane damage to Mar-a-Lago, his private club in Palm Beach, but The Associated Press found little evidence of such large-scale damage.

Two years after a series of storms, the real estate tycoon said he didn't know how much had been spent on repairs but acknowledged he pocketed some of the money. Trump transferred funds into his personal accounts, saying that under the terms of his policy, "you didn't have to reinvest it."

In a deposition in an unrelated civil lawsuit, Trump said he got the cash from a "very good insurance policy" and cited ongoing work to the historic home.

"Landscaping, roofing, walls, painting, leaks, artwork in the — you know, the great tapestries, tiles, Spanish tiles, the beach, the erosion," he said of the storm damage. "It's still not what it was."

Trump's description of extensive damage does not match those of Mar-a-Lago members and even Trump loyalists. In an interview about the estate's history, Trump's longtime former butler, Anthony Senecal, recalled no catastrophic damage.

property and casualty insurance, and insurance companies don't write checks for $17M casually. To put it mildly. It's possible that this company is the victim of an elaborate and carefully constructed fraud scheme involving the examining company and someone high up in the insurer's claims department, but it's likely the story is flawed. Not that I'd MIND if it turned out to be true...

Who says he bribes people
And the various cons he pulled
I wouldn't be sure it isn't true
Let's see if Trump actually sues associated press or just let it slide hoping no one will notice

when it refused to pay out when his business burned down...

Btw, Issa's reelection is in trouble, and he sent out a mailer trying himself to President Obama for signing the Survivors' Bill of Rights! Obama called him "the definition of chutzpah."

He's going to spend the rest of his life and the rest of his money on lawyers, who will demand payment up front.

What type of insurance company would pay out 17mil without sending an agent to investigate, photographs, separate and impartial claims adjuster, etc. Jesus, when I had damage to my house after a hurricane, they sent out 2 agents, took measurements, photos and had contractors even give estimates on repairs.

Now, the pocketing of monies doesn't surprise me - after all, it is Trump.
