He had bought into the corporate media memes. I had to explain all the many reasons why I'm supporting Hillary the give, give, giver.
Namely Science. But qualifications too. Her steadiness under pressure also. Then there's her ability to digest complex issues and form her own sound conclusion. And the kicker, that if we elect her and downballot Dems, it'll give Bernie Sanders help in the senate. Stuff like that.
They can definitely be a hard bunch to please. I've been getting into it with a Bernie supporting friend as well. She said she filled her ballot out but was "Meh" about it. I said "I hope you voted for Hillary, though" and she just said "I'm not telling you". We've been friends for 12 years! 
I teased her that I bet she voted Trump but she did say "Hell no"....maybe I just have a Stein supporter on my hands.
She is in California though, so I guess nothing much lost on our end. Props to you for convincing them!
I am traveling right now and next Monday I am personally taking my absentee ballot to the elections office for my county and delivering it in person. That ballot isn't even being trusted to the USPS.....
