I think Trump is losing because he's losing.

He built his whole primary campaign on being a winner. His supporters love winners. He's clearly no longer a winner. Ergo, fewer and fewer supporters.

Hillary gets the presidency, but trump got more eyeballs, more free media, etc., making him the biggest political celebrity of all times, therefore, he's the winner! come watch trump tv!

...is uniquely vulnerable to debunking. His promises of a new Gilded Age aren't going to play so well to anyone who's watched TV in the last couple of months. He's not a wizard, and not a messiah. He's losing, and only the diehards are still trying to deny it.
