(364 posts)Lack of enthusiasm, passion - my a**. There's no one on this earth who can be more passionate than this person - loudness is not equal to passion. Women are quiet, but determined. The 19th amendment vs 2nd amendment - bring it on.

(45,433 posts)that's a very impactful story. Many elderly won't be able to stand in line for hours on election day so it's very important to have early voting to spread it out.

(2,413 posts)My mother was born in 1916, and I think she took the right to vote more or less for granted. But she did vote.
My sister-in-law in 1968 said she didn't know why she should bother to vote, since her vote simply negated her husband's (my brother). I was still too young to vote myself, but told sister-in-law she absolutely should vote. Her negation of my brother's vote mattered more than she knew.
Every vote counts.
I am ashamed to admit that I did not vote in 1972, but I have voted in every election and primary since then.
