Because right now the impression is that Comey acted out of cheap political spite and/or CYA expediency.

2. Exactly. I also noticed there was a kernel in there about Trump being investigated

By the FBI in regards to the Russians.

3. Republicans generally and Trump lately

seem to get away with nearly anything they want (It's ok if you're a Republican, etc.)

There have been some reports that Comey had not even seen the emails before he sent the letter to the GOP chairs. If true, I consider the letter completely political.

I also regret that Comey's action undergirds 11 more days of false equivalencies by the gutless media.

supposed to be running the FBI. It looks to me like really sloppy work, any way it's sliced.

...his advisers possible ties to Russia, and why the FBI has not informed Congress of that inquiry.

No one knows that Trump was being investigated. So they pointed out the double standard where his investigation gets to be secret while Hills is not. I think the bombshell that says he is being investigated too may help.
