2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumMy ex-wife called yesterday.
She has never been very political nor a big Hillary fan and she doesn't always vote but she was so upset yesterday with the new "witch hunt" email news she got in her car and drove 30 miles down the mountain to early vote for Hillary. She is in her 70's and has two bad knees but nothing was going to stop her. She was really pissed. I am not sure what this means but maybe, just maybe, James Comey has awakened a sleeping giant.

(20,219 posts)Thankfully we've got paper ballots where I am. They're scanned electronically, I hope no one can interfere with that.

She can't stand that 'madman' who she refuses to call by name..
Despite all the hand-wringing dems are doing, this may totally backfire on the rethugs..

(9,777 posts)But in CA the ballot measures are innumerable. And indecipherable. We are still researching.
2 votes for HILLARY coming soon.

(5,125 posts)Every woman I know is positively LIVID at what Comey did. Just like in the primaries, we're not screaming, we're VOTING. So you know, I think you have it right about the sleeping giant.
Hulk
(6,699 posts)Since he has chosen to take the unprecedented move to cast doubt on a presidential candidate 11 days from the election, it would be most fitting if he or his office released a statement clarifying just what exactly is occurring. This is real trash behavior, simply to cover his OWN ASS because he fears the wrath of chaffetz, and the rest of the teabagger political hacks in Washington.
The coward OWES an explanation to the American public he SERVES.
He needs to be replaced in the first 100 days, regardless of the reich wing brown shirt party's screams and howlings.

(144 posts)This is all anecdotal off course but I really think the independent voters are fed up with this. So close to an election it just doesn't pass the smell test for a lot of people and there might indeed be a reverse psychological reaction.

(84,823 posts)I remember hearing similar anecdotal evidence when the dubya drunk driving revelations came out, just days before the election. People were really pissed about the timing. And I heard numerous instances in the news about voters who were angry and vowed that this wouldn't change their minds about him, and it was just an eleventh-hour trick that they didn't appreciate - and that they saw through.
Perhaps that mentality will be in play here?
