Raw Story: Election 2016 is tearing some men and women’s relationships apart

This is just so sad. Bad enough that this election is ripping the country apart...it's also tearing apart relationships.

WASHINGTON — The North Carolina couple won't even watch the news in the same room anymore. He is voting for Donald Trump to cancel out her vote for Hillary Clinton. The tension has brought their marriage to its lowest point, she said.

"I really, genuinely think the marriage is the worst it has ever been," said Tasha, who, like the others in a Charlotte, N.C., focus group last week, gave just her first name.

"It is a train wreck. I do not even want to hear it," she said. "He has to put headphones on to listen to his Fox News. It sends me over the edge."

Asked later to name one positive attribute about Clinton, Tasha's husband, Kyler, struggled.

"There might have been something before this campaign," he said. "But I hate her."

I question whether they're even a good person.

and its another reason not to talk politics at work. I overheard a guy at work say Hillary is a liar repeatedly so my radar ears were listening for more nonsense. Subsequently I've overheard him say a few anti-minority statements to a bobble head white woman who is married to a black man. "Overheard" is an understatement, he's talks non-stop and is quite loud.

He hasn't watched one of his speeches, or any debates, he's just voting for Trump. She was with Trump in the beginning, but that changed in May, to supporting Hillary. She can't even stand to look at him any longer. I did give her my email address if she needs to talk to someone. Her anger was real.

She should just tell him she decided not to vote (and then vote).

I would end the relationship over it. Anyone who could support someone so disgusting lacks the judgement, moral fiber and sense of right and wrong/values that are so important to me.

If their husbands are supporting Trump, there were likely clues prior to this election cycle that their husbands are xenophobic, misogynistic, racist jerks.

I'm not saying I can't be civil with a Trump supporter, but given the sort of backward, uninformed mindset they would need to have to support Trump, I could never have an intimate relationship with them. How can a woman have a trusting relationship with a bigot/misogynist?

they try to rationalize it.

drumpf is an admitted sexual predator when he thought no one was listening 'cept billy bush.

And, a pathological liar.. AND, an admitted racist and all around dictator.

during the LAST election. Not happening in this one, though. EVEN THOUGH he is a staunch Republican, and his family has been for generations, he is voting blue this time around. For Gregg, for Bayh, AND for Clinton!

He is absolutely REPULSED by the orange one.

I did not know when I met him...by the time I realized it...I was madly in love. We met 29 years ago today in a bar;he was wearing his New York cool costume which I thought was a costume...me in sweats with a ponytail after a long day of data entry at my second job . I lived in Connecticut. I did not even date Republicans...and wept when Reagan was elected (boy was I right even if I was a child). Well now , my husband is even more liberal than me if that is possible...and voted for Bill Clinton and every Democrat since... (first Democrat he ever voted for). He is a great guy too in every way. We met on Halloween and were married in July...He jokes and says I 'saved' him from Republican hell. Those nasty angry people are mostly miserable.
