I know far too many Republicans who have defected to believe Trump is running strong.

I know some dozens of Republicans personally and professionally. Most of them hate Trump as much as I do. Some are just leaving the top of the ballot blank, some are voting Johnson or McMullin, and some are going all the way to Hillary. I don't think a single one abandoned Romney, McCain, or Dubya.

As a result, when I see that TargetSmart data saying that 28% of registered Republicans are defecting, I can believe it to an extent. I'm thinking more like 15% or so, but that seems more in line.

This year is an anomaly. The GOP voters are not voting party in the presidential contest the way they have done in the past.

And are often registered Republicans.

Any state that has a high percentage of Hispanic voters (including Texas) is likely to get a good percentage of Republican votes for Hillary.

2. In FL, a lot of registered republicans might be Hispanic (Cuban in particular).

So that could explain bigger than average number of defection.

And keep an eye on Texas...I predict Hillary will win Texas. Almost 25% of eligible voters in Texas are Hispanic and Trump woke the voting beast.

I work for a military contractor where everyone has to have a degree to work there and most are Reps and ex military. My circle there is maybe 150 people, I know of zero voting for Trump. I know of many voting Hillary which will be the first time try vote Dem. I know many who won't vote.

Part of it is that they don't consider themselves Republicans anymore after all of this.
