CLINTON WINNING MICHIGAN EASILY
Contact(s): Matt Grossmann , Cynthia Kyle , Andy Henion
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has a wide lead over businessman Donald Trump among likely Michigan voters, winning support from women, educated and non-white voters, a new Michigan State University State of the State Survey shows.
Among likely voters, 47 percent said they would vote for Clinton, a Democrat, and 28 percent said they would cast ballots for Trump, a Republican. Libertarian Gary Johnson took 11 percent and Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein won 4 percent.

(7,575 posts)and have worked every other voting day here in NM as well....with everything that has to be done after the polls close down on Tuesday, including breaking down all of the polling booths and such, the election maybe called before I ever get home. I hope I get home before it does.

(21,056 posts)It's a 60 day poll. I've never seen one of those..
"The survey was conducted Sept. 1-Oct 30 over cell phones and landlines"
A wonderful result, but strangely put together. Most polls are rolling 3-5 days.

(11,631 posts)Still 10% undecided and it would be unprecedented if 15% voted 3rd party means still a lot of instability... would love to see her numbers over 50.

(543 posts)Hillary is gonna win Michigan by about 7%.

(13,340 posts)That this outfit one was of the better Michigan pollsters in the primaries, for those worrying about another Michigan surprise.

(3,226 posts)Most polls had Hillary way ahead in the Michigan primary this year.

(21,056 posts)that should be a firewall of protection from him even coming close in Michigan, and beyond the MOE. So, it's looking good Michigan will certainly go BLUE!

(15,951 posts)that Michigan will stay Blue, as expected. Other recent polls show a smaller 5-7 point lead for her and Clinton herself is going to Michigan later this week to reinforce her lead.

(21,056 posts)We'll take the great news, but it's 60 day polling cycle is way outside the norm. The fact is Drumpf has no chance in Michigan with, as you mentioned, Hillary being ahead of him past the margin of error!
So, if we could just get a few points in Florida to separate them a bit, and hope for a squeaker in Ohio, she could easily get 350 even if she "only" beats him by 4 or 5 points nationally. I don't know where the LA Times is getting their numbers from, btw, they always have Trump ahead it seems, against everyone else's polling...

(520 posts)Very few people I know and work with are not falling for Trump's Bull$hit!!
And I work for a very large corporation.
People I know who are Republicans have not been happy with Trump.
Those who are Trump supporters, are angry people and have few friends.

(10,479 posts)the schools here are having "a voting day." Her grandchild, a girl, was livid about it when she was picked up at 3:00. Ranting and raving as only a young girl of 11 can do was telling her grandmother what happened. All in her class voted for Trump except her. She voted for Hillary' Her fellow students were making fun of her but knowing her they will not be doing that much longer. Don't the teachers realize those students were repeating what their family had said.
Next time that happens I told her to answer the question Why did you vote for her, she should have said "because I am not stupid." No other state could be redder than TN.

(36,745 posts)Drumpf's chances of winning here are nearly zero.
We will help elect Hillary Rodham Clinton the 45th POTUS with 16 EV's.
I was never worried about Michigan. She's going to win big here. I already voted absentee over a week ago. I never considered it a battleground state.
Michigan - we've got this!!!! Now come on Ohio (my birthplace) - make me proud!!!

My beef is the inconsistency and selective favouring/disfavouring of "this poll" and "that poll" and this poll and......
When the ABC/Washington Post poll had Sec Clinton up 12 points people acted like it was gods lips to their ears. Then when it yesterday, after 9 days of crashing out, had Trump up 1(gag), it was satan run, a Putin poll, etc.
My point is that it was off both times, an outlier, even when it was in our favour.
NOW we come to this poll. By far the dominant narrative on here is that Stein and Johnson are shit, will be lucky to get 3 or 4% between them (with Stein sub 1%). I agree.
So why, why are so many praising a poll that gives these 2 cretin fucktwits FIFTEEN PERCENT???
We are the party of science and reason and intelligence. We should not play "I wish it was so and so it shall be" games. Leave that shite, that illogical mindset to the bible bangin Rethug scum.

(7,365 posts)The cherry picking here is obvious, but that's to make people feel good about things. The fact is Hillary has a tough road to go, this election will be close. Diehard Hillary supporters can't believe she is only marginally more popular than the buffoon she is running against, but alas that's the case.
