... then Obama goes to Russia and tells the Russian people that democracy is alive in America because he could never get elected in other countries outside of America if he was eligible etc.

It was a empirical slap in Putin's face and his consummate "democracy isn't real" bullshit... I think this is the root of Putin's vitriol against Obama... Obama is a daily reminder to the world that Putin is full of shit.
