My most favorite(st) persons in the world, beside our president
Prior to Election Day on Tuesday, LeBron James will be campaigning with Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in Cleveland on Sunday.
New York Magazinereported the news, one of Clinton's campaign staffers used a GIF of James at the World Series to make the announcement on Twitter and NBC's Bradd Jaffy shared a press release on Friday night.
The presence of the Cleveland Cavaliers star at Clinton's event so close to Nov. 8 could have an impact on which candidate wins Ohio. It's a swing state that's important to Donald Trump, who held the lead in a recent poll. Perhaps James can provide the final push that Clinton needs.

And, now James is willing to take the backlash, possibly even financial in some lost endorsements, to do what he believes is important.

(4,667 posts)It's not easy for a top athlete to take a stand like this. All credit to Lebron James for recognizing a cause bigger than himself.

INDEPENDENCE, Ohio -- Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James became the latest athlete to fire back at Donald Trump over the Republican presidential nominee's recent inflammatory comments.
"What is 'locker room talk' to me? It's not what that guy said," James said Wednesday afternoon following the team's practice. "We don't disrespect women in no shape or fashion in our locker room. That never comes up. Obviously, I got a mother-in-law, a wife, a mom and a daughter and those conversations just don't go on in our locker room."
