In polls only. FL goes pink in polls-plus even though NC is closer.

(10,624 posts)We take Nevada, Florida, & NC. Trump takes Iowa & Ohio.
If things break against us from here, we could lose those three states and still win the election by clinging to New Hampshire.
If things break for us from here, Ohio, Arizona, and even Georgia are not out of the question.

(1,429 posts)I see less than 2% chance any one of CO, NM, WI, MN, MI, PA, or VA go for the orange tin pot wannabe dictator. I have it 322-216 Clinton http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1251&pid=2599136
Of course a 274-264 one state squeaker would be a national nightmare, as Trump absolutely will NOT concede in that case, and his nazi hordes will go bonkers.
Plus, we will be be facing, I fear, at best a 50-50 senate, and that is only if Ayotte is beaten in NH, which is the only race I don't have good feel for how it plays out (Bayh I think is toast in IN, as he has collapsed and IN is red or dead bible bamging loon RW white dominant state atm and which is in a Trump mini surge.
50-50 Senate sets up Nov 7th, 2017 special Virginia Senate election (probably Bobby Scott will be appointed by Mcauliffe to replace VP Kaine). In this event, that ONE election will determine control of the Senate and will be insane expenditures in it, and drama and hate and .. well 2016 redux.

(11,631 posts)Ross, Hassan, Bayh, and Kander all underwater by 538 estimates at this point. We need one of them for 50/50 and control. Looks like the best chance is Hassan.

(574 posts)It turns my stomach to think of the misery Republicans will rain upon Hillary and the country if they hold both chambers.
I think I'll self-induce a coma. Will someone please wake me on the 9th?

(11,631 posts)Being right across the river and swamped with STL media. That's a tough row to hoe. He's a solid candidate but I think he's fighting Trump coattails in redneck Missouri unlike almost every other competitive Senate race.

(10,528 posts)they've been running the same Kander=Clinton ads for weeks and the polls haven't changed much, polls have had Trump by 5%-15% but MO probably is under polled at the Presidential level, and even those polls undersample the urban vote

(11,631 posts)Very effective political ads for Missouri of assembling the gun blindfolded and a whole Blunt family tree diagram full of lobbyists.

(11,631 posts)On again off again affair with Donald Trump and tie her to him like an anchor considering how fast he seems to be sinking, although I'm guessing they've already been doing that.

(264 posts)Hoping to get Ohio. I have the same feeling I did after the Indians tied it up in the 8th. At first I was devastated, but when the game was tied I felt the Cubs would win. I don't know why I just had a feeling.
This whole election has left me anxiety riddled. Now I'm almost relaxed and way more confident. The last few weeks have symbolized Hillary's career, attack after attack from the right and yet she still is standing proud and in the drivers seat.

(8 posts)Hi, Im new here, and can't start nrw threads yet. It would be great if you could start one with the following theme:
Having just read that our first woman Attorney General, Janet Reno died. I immediately remembered a truly insensitive joke John McCain made about her and 18 year old Chelsea Clinton at the 1998 Republican Convention:
"Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly?
Because her father is Janet Reno."
McCain was 62 back then, and has since apologized, but it would be so fitting for Reno's passing to remind Arizona voters of the man he was, and very likely still is, and to defeat his Senate bid as a long overdue, but fitting, retribution for the kind of Republican crassness that paved the way for Trump to perhaps lower the bar on decency even more with his mocking a disabled reporter.
It would be such a powerful way to honor Janet Reno's life, and so poetically just, for John McCain to lose his Senate race tomorrow as divine retribution for that deeply offensive Janet Reno/Chelsea Clinton joke.
