2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumWe will absolutely win the Senate back, and here is why...
As soon as Trump loses and his campaign managers walk away he will start spewing hate all over Twitter, and begin his racist, sexist, idiotic rants again.
In fact, he will probably give the most dangerous "concession" speech possible. All the horrible things that he is about to do are going to reflect very poorly on all of the Republican senators who have supported him.
It's about to get very bad for Republicans.

(24 posts)the presidential election and this year's senate races happen at the same time. If you mean in two years, our chances greatly diminish given the shear number of Dems up in 2018. We need to win the senate tomorrow. I think we will, but it's tight!

(23,954 posts)we could end up with a 50-49 senate for a while if Kaine becomes the VP and it takes some time for the VA gov to appoint a replacement.

(1,429 posts)That will set up an insanely pressurised Nov 7th 2017 special election with (I am guessing) 200 million USD plus tossed in (IF it is 50-50)
The control of the Senate rests on one race tomorrow

(51 posts)because if the election results are known while half the country still is still voting, (and this year they should be known pretty early - especially with some outlets revealing actual vote numbers throughout the day) this will definitely depress a percentage of Trump voters from even going to the polls. Which means fewer votes for the R Senate candidate.

(15,262 posts)of course, but for other reasons, better candidates, better ideas, Republican obstruction, Trump, Hillary, our platform, our record, our President the last eight years, many more good reasons.
