Republicans knew that Hillary Clinton was the most popular woman in America 20 years running. They had little hope that they could beat her, so they used the attack on Benghazi to blame her, slander her, investigate her 9+ times, spread false leaks to fake CIA expert Wayne Simmons on Fox news and attack her character on a daily basis. Despite the Republican onslaught against her, they couldn't find criminality. It is ridiculous on it's face because 13 similar attacks during the Bush administration was ignored. They didn't blame President Obama, or the Joint Chiefs, the CIA, the Department of Defense but Hillary Clinton alone. The truth was spilled when Kevin McCarthy admitted that the Benghazi Special Committee was used "to bring down her poll numbers." Jason Chaffetz admitted that Republicans on the Appropriations Committee cut security funding twice before the attack, despite the hundreds of pleas for additional security in Libya.

De-legitimize the President of the United States with false birther nonsense, obstruction and unconstitutional shirking of their duties.

Books were written and movies made to continue the character assassination of Hillary Clinton. They weren't based on facts but nonstop slander and conspiracy theories. They used dark social media marketing to perpetuate the worst lies and promoted division.
Alt Right white nationalists took over the Trump campaign and turned it into a bully pulpit. Their candidate showed a complete lack of discipline, so they turned him into a teleprompter reading puppet.

Befriend Vladimir Putin, despite his imperialism in Eastern Europe. Paul Manafort escaped without scrutiny despite his reported ties to Russia.

Divide Americans with racial profiling, immigrant bashing, enemy building via fear mongering. They convinced Americans that an enemy (ISIS), which has no air force, no navy, no missiles with no nuclear weapons, no aircraft carrier, no submarines or helicopters were an existential threat. ISIS was created by the indiscriminate bombing of innocents in Iraq. We can't kill innocent people without creating hatred. Terrorists were born out of revenge. Republicans didn't want to take away Iran's nuclear weapons program, they wanted to use force.

Republicans ignored the filthy history and divisive campaign from their champion. Every Republican on the Hill was sent detailed information about Trump's many crimes, including the rape of a 13 year old girl. They ignored and buried the truth.

Intimidate the electorate with demands to watch polling places. Threaten Hillary Clinton with jail. They didn't have any proof of criminality, but they used perception as reality. If you repeat a lie often enough it becomes reality.

Manipulate the media by attacking our free press to de-legitimize the truth. If you don't like the message, shoot the messenger. Americans believed a pathological liar over all legitimate news sources. The media built Trump while he was trying to destroy them. This is scary when you consider that the media has always been a part of making our elected officials accountable.

Transparency is not allowed. Hide his tax returns because they would prove what a crooked businessman he's always been. While Trump hid his crooked business practices, Russian hackers broke into the DNC and promised bombshell revelations about Hillary Clinton. All they proved was some rude comments by associates who thought they had privacy.

Use the FBI to collude with the Trump campaign and make public announcement that investigations were leading to indictments. None were coming, so the Director of the FBI released a vague accusation on a Friday afternoon, 11 days before the election. It was all lies.

Rig voting machines, create long lines in heavy Democratic precincts, suppress voter registration in the same communities and let lack of patience do the vote thinning.

How many of you actually believe that if Donald J Trump won the popular vote but lost the electoral college vote, that he would've accepted the results???

I think you sum up the situation quite well. I'll also add that they have been doing a great job of pitting Democrat against Democrat. Hell, I have been back only 5 minutes, and I already served on a jury where someone was blaming Democrats for not choosing Bernie Sanders. Because apparently, the commie-hating (except for Putin) right, who were spewing anti-Semite filth all over the place, weren't going to attack the Socialist Jew, I guess. It's sad to see people falling for that.

Part of the plan is that we attack each other instead of the powers that allowed this to happen....
