My thoughts: we don't even know the final numbers yet

Let's hold off on anything based on numbers until mid-December or so.

It's possible Donald Trump received fewer votes than Romney, or more. We really just don't know yet. We're all hurt. We're all angry. We all want to hit them back, so hard they won't even know what's happening, in the mid-terms (and I'm assembling a state legislature spreadsheet for this very purpose). But as of now we still can't even say whether Trump got more or fewer votes than Romney. Until we can say that with some confidence, we can't really talk about what our path going forward should be.

I joined DU back in the dark days. Bush was President, the GOP controlled Congress, the Iraq war was raging. We're all on the same team. Let's freak out for a week or two, wait for the final numbers to come in, and then get to work kicking ass.
