Incomes under 50,000: Hillary 52%, Trump 41%

2016 Election exit polls
https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/politics/2016-election/exit-polls/

Any pundit making hyperbolic claims about 'economic anxiety' or 'Dems devasted by people w incomes under $50k' shouldn't be taken at face value.

Can we do better? certainly. But I think it is best to be aware of and reject truthiness as we move forward.

1. This exit poll doesn't match the actual results though.

At least as far as the rust belt is concerned.

6. Thanks! However non-votes don't count in an election.

If you know of anything that only shows

Clinton/Trump/Other that would be great

HRC only got 18% of those making under 30K.

And received 28% of those making 30-50K.

5. Thanks. Link? BTW non-voters aren't counted in election totals

If you don't vote, there is no vote to count. That skews the percentages. So the chart is maybe 'truthy', but factually inaccurate.

Even so, chart shows HRC won more voters than Trump with under $30k

A column of "other" makes sense, though.

Trump/Clinton/Other

7. At what time were those figures calculated?

As several pundits have pointed out, we should not be comparing the final vote totals from prior years with this year's votes until all 2016 votes are counted.

The Cook website is keeping a tally. At this time, more people voted in 2016 than in 2012, with more votes to count in Calif, NY, etc.

9. Interesting, but same results regarding income. The Trump "worker" meme is crap.

Despite the obsfugation of 'counting' non-voters, who produce no vote to be counted.

14. Of course. People who make less than that tend to be women and minorities

Especially if they are single. The entitled white dudes tend to make more and think they deserve to make more money regardless of education and skill level because they are white dudes.
