Here's an article on LGBTQ voters who backed Trump (sorry for the click-baity title):
http://www.nbcnews.com/feature/nbc-out/meet-lgbtq-voters-who-backed-trump-n684181
Some of their reasons for doing so, and other thoughts expressed in the article, just shake logic and "projection" to the core.
"Most also emphasized that they were less concerned with the LGBTQ-related aspects of the Trump platform than they were with general issues like national security, economy, and the right to bear arms."
OK, this is fair. They're not one-issue voters. But, a surprising number of LGBT folks voted for Trump on the basis of gun policy, apparently being misinformed about Hillary's gun policy. One person interviewed even said: "Gun rights are gay rights!" WTF?
"...gay Trump voters don't appear to share the concerns of the larger community. In fact, they [LGBTQ voters] are thrilled to support a man who many Republicans say is the first truly LGBTQ-friendly GOP president." What the double-fuck?
If you're gay and you want to vote for Trump on 2nd amendment grounds, so be it. But to say that Trump is the first truly LGBTQ-friendly president? This is a complete denial of reality and tricking yourself into believing something for which there is no basis (like conning yourself into believing that shitting on a baby's head is good for the baby).
"Foster was also attracted to Trump's stated commitment to "Stopping radical Islamic terror by defeating ISIS and any other group that wants to bring harm to American citizens."
"When you have a group that thinks I deserve to be thrown off a building because I'm gay, I want them eliminated," Foster said."
Mr. Foster is apparently unaware that many Republicans also want gays to be thrown off a building, too, (see: Mike Pence) and that Democrats are sort of against that. Thinking that a Republican-led government will continue to improve gay rights is pure delusion.
"With marriage equality settled, I want to see the Trump administration work to improve the lives of gay families," Joseph Murray told NBC OUT. "I want to see President Trump renegotiate our failed trade deals to create jobs for LGBT families."
This illustrates one of the unavoidable consequences of progress in LGBTQ rights: As things like gay marriage and gays serving in the military get "potted" and become accepted, there's less incentive for LGBTQ to stay in the Democratic fold. Also, we've already seen some Republicans use figures of speech implying that they themselves were somehow involved with the expansion of LGBTQ rights (i.e., revising history) thus giving future LBGTQ voters the impression that Republicans actually did something for them once.
"Bill Clinton signed the DOMA bill into to law in 1996," Griffin said. "Hillary's position on gay marriage has flipped flopped as it suited her political ambitions."
Griffin told NBC OUT she expects Trump to "leave the marriage equality act intact and continue to support all Americans without prejudice around sexual preference, race or religion."

Joe Murray also cited Clinton's changing positions as a reason to have faith in the Trump administration.
"While Trump was admitting a gay couple to his club Mar-a-Lago, Hillary was declaring marriage was between one man and one woman," Murray said. "Hillary's support for marriage equality only came after the Supreme Court's decision was inevitable. It was a convenient conversion that carried little political risk."
These particular LGBTQ interviewees have apparently drunk the Kool-Aid and stipulated to faulty reasoning. What evidence is there that Trump's properties (i.e., Mar-a-Lago) were all that gay friendly?
There's more gaping illogic in the article. I guess every constituency has its dumbasses.
