Why she lost

This is the way I see it.

For starters-
She was held to a different standard. She talked policy, Trump talked crazy.
His crazy was louder than her experience.
Anytime she TRIED (and she did) to steer the conversation to the important things, the press went harder about those fucking emails and Benghazi.

Someone within her team felt the best way forward was to point out all the crazy shit Donny-boy was doing in the hopes of pivoting the presses attention from her. It didn't work. How could it? They were a rabid pack of wild rating-obsessed dogs. The more they spun out her "issues", the more eyeballs they had on the screen and the more snippets went up on social media. It cannot be discounted that during this election a frighteningly large portion of the electorate in this country got their news from Facebook, Twitter & Instagram. That's scary shit. One minute clips or a meme do not result in an informed electorate.

When you want to point fingers at why, the biggest one needs to go to the press. Running against her was made easier for him because they were complicit. She had to climb over a 50 foot wall every morning - blah blah blah, breaking overnight, email!- while Trump just had to wave his tiny hands and say things like "tremendous" and "bigly." He had no REAL positions. He had no experience. He had no gravitas. He never, ever should've gotten as far as he did. But by talking about him non-stop, the press was paving the road for him straight to the White House.

I would love to see some statistics about the words and phrases used this year in regards to Hillary by the press. "trust issues" "hubris" "likability problem". It was a daily diet of horror shoved down our throats. We heard NON STOP negative shit about her.
The so called reporters WOULD NOT STOP talking about her "problems."

All while they used words like "dynamic" and "billionaire businessman" to describe Dump. It was a form of subliminal manipulation, even if they never realized they were doing it.

Maybe- just maybe- things were going in her favor 12 days before the election. The media was going harder - not hard, just harder- at Trump. His supporters, lost in the wilderness and feeling sad, needed something to hold on to. Cue James Comey. With one vague letter he revitalized any on the fence Trumpsters. The media piled back on and it was email city all over again. Is it really a surprise that she lost any ground she'd gained after three phenomenal debate performances and pussy gate? The media was lobbing off water cannons at her every five minutes.

They loved Trumps reality show madness and couldn't wait to report on it. CNN had a horde of panelists on each and every day screaming at each other. Over and over and over again people like Katrina P. from Team Dump got to make grandiose allegations while telling blatant lies about Hillary & the Democratic party.

Trumps craziness was a dog whistle and it appealed to people who are dumber than dog shit. People who get their news from Fox and propaganda bullshit sites. People who pound on the bible and froth at the mouth over everything. People who are easily led.

Stop blaming Hillary. Stop blaming the DNC. Both had flaws- some major- but neither are really accountable for why we're here.

This election was about racism, rage, & fear.

There was no panacea for this. No other candidate would or could have changed what it was Trump tapped into. All the idiots who spent the last 8 years running their mouths about Obama made this happen. I think that was the secret handshake here. Trump's "Make America Great Again" slogan was nothing but code for "Make America White Again."

Men who find successful women- or just women with opinions- threatening couldn't wait to vote for Mr. Orange.

I believe running against Bernie would've been just as easy for the Republicans to topple. Instead of Lock Her Up, Trumpster fire would've gotten his people to chant shit about socialism.

This happened because the majority of Republicans are racists. Homophobes. Woman Haters. All Trump had to do was change the argument to scary socialist jewish man and boom- his people would've come out just as hard against Bernie. He tapped into their hate and their fear- which the media then reinforced with every single story they put out.

That's how he won.

What we need to look at now is how to counteract the damage he's done.

We should've at least made inroads with the house and senate. The Republicans wiped up the floor with us on election day and THAT is a HUGE problem. We rely on fact and action. But that isn't the case for 1/2 the country. They follow slogans, emotional manipulation and the loudest voice in the room.

This fucking election has taken us back MORE than 50 years. It's been more than a week and I'm still so goddamn sick over it I could scream.

Shady "media" writing stories directed at certain demographics. That is one of my biggest takeaways this election season. Thing is, even after they out themselves, their fan club sticks around as long as they continue to meet their preconceived notions.

Even here I saw people saying she had it in the bag and Trump was over- and this was after the Comey letter.
I don't really know what we could've done differently to change the outcome. My genuine feeling is that there isn't much.
But going forward, I think we need a different plan. The Repubs have shown there is NO LEVEL to which they won't stoop.

I didn't volunteer here in Indiana because I figured she wasn't going to win here but expected she would do better in the states she was supposed to win, so I didn't phone bank.

And I think her campaign didn't push that either, though of course they sent out endless fucking emails asking for donations.

For a quick example, check out 4:05 and following in this video. (The whole sketch is great, with the FBI and the KKK all being his BFFs, while the reporter keeps insisting on HRC's emails--but some people don't want to watch 10 minutes.)
