Hillary should hold town halls using her own money and go to small backwoods areas around the US

and say Let me hear from you. Let the people explain to her face why they did not vote for her. Then she could explain after the fact what she was really about. It would help the Democratic Party greatly. It will start the rebuilding process from the ground up.

You can't fix stupid people. They rewarded their economic executioners. Screw them because they screwed the rest of us. The economy would have been better had Obama's and Democratic initiatives had not been completely blocked for 8 years. The GOP won't fund to build infrastructure but now they will give $4 trillion to billionaires and DOD.

Now they want to obliterate the safety net and take away health care for millions of people. Under them less than 50% of the country will have health insurance. And those that do will have under covered.

Agreed. As you said, if they want to live hand to mouth with little to no health insurance, God Bless 'em. I hate that those of us who actually understand who and what their president tRump is, will be forced to suffer right along with them.

Broken record time again: Their president, P.T. tRump, said that a $7.25 Federal Minimum wage was too high, then said maybe we should raise it (When Bernie/Hillary spoke then agreed upon a $15.00 Federal Minimum wage), then he said maybe we don't need a Federal Minimum wage period. Now, unless I missed something, what wage WILL these Einstein's be willing to work FOR? $2.00, $3.00, $5.00 per hour? Working for $5.00 per hour doesn't sound like a "fantastic" job to me. Do they even get that this is NOT a living wage at ALL? All I can say is good luck with that "fantastic" job in your soon-to-be if it already isn't a right-to-work state (Which is where Wisconsin is moving thanks to the worst Governor in the world Scott Walker), where you won't have any health insurance and as you rightfully say if they do they and their families will be woefully under-insured with hideous crappy health care options.

Calling people "stupid", writing them off and then being bewildered as to why the Dems are having their asses handed to them in formerly solid blue states like WV and WI.

Better hope this recount does turn things around because if not the D's are going to have a giant Pterodactyl egg on their face.

found this sad but insightful essay to be a validation of what you are saying. The ignorance is willful and too many in rural areas, who have been lobotomized by fundamentalist religion, are proud of it. http://forsetti.tumblr.com/post/153181757500/on-rural-america-understanding-isnt-the-problem

And if Hillary does ANYTHING, she should certainly be reimbursed for it - at the very least. She has devoted her life to people and worked her heart out to reach people in this campaign. Too many of them - some on DU apparently - seem to have been blatantly ungrateful for her efforts.

I expect her to retire from public life and continue her work with the foundation and some speaking engagements. I doubt very much that she will subject herself to another presidential campaign. She got more than enough punishment from this one, and it still continues. Don't expect to hear much from her.

We do need to make more attempts than we have in the past to get our message to the folks in the rural areas to at least neutralize the propaganda from the right. As we just found out, we can't rely on the urban areas alone to pull us through elections.

I do believe that they are looking into more states than just Wisconsin.
