happen to agree that Ellison isn't the right choice. If you want to ignore that Dersh feels the same way and therefore makes the opinion invalid, that's your right but you're ignoring reality.

10. There are plenty of reasons to support one candidate or another.

The RW-generated Ellison hate currently being presented here has nothing to do with his incumbency, or his ability to do the job of DNC chairman. It has everything to do with his race & his religion. As Democrats, we're supposed to be better then that.

it's his prior support of louis farrakhan that makes him the absolute wrong choice. Screwy louis is a pig and anyone that EVER supported him is not a friend of mine.

If you can't look beyond the color of his skin and the religion he practices .... well ....

of his skin or religion have to do with his association with a disgusting bigot like louis farrakhan? Am I supposed to forget he blamed 9/11 on "lying murderous Zionist Jews"? Not in this lifetime. If that's who you want hung around the neck of ALL Democrats, it'll be done without me and plenty of other people who will not contribute to the party. As Democrats we're supposed to be better than associating with repulsive bigots.

Ellison is not responsible for Farrakhan.

And just WHERE did I make his color or religion an issue? Ellison is most certainly responsible for his association with farrakhan and that he didn't feel the need to denounce him until he HAD to.

5. Real point is: The DNC chair is now a FULL-TIME job. . .

. . .which should NOT be filled by a currently active legislator such as a House rep. That person ends up serving two masters while performing neither job well.

A former legislator or a political operative is the answer.

Keith Ellison, as an active legislator, already has enough on his plate as a Congressman without this added burden.

and a fellow DUer but if Ellison is made head of the DNC, I can promise they wont see one dime from me, no door knocking, no phone calls. I will never support ANYONE who EVER had kind words for Louis Farrakhan and waited far too long to denounce him and only did that because it was politically untenable to continue supporting him.
