The Trump campaign called the recount an “electoral farce,” ignoring that it has been filed in a state where its candidate leads Hillary Clinton by almost 11,000 out of 4.8 million votes cast, the smallest margin of the final three states that gave Trump an Electoral College majority after election night. (The Green Party is also seeking recounts in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. Wisconsin began its recount Thursday, while challenges continue in Pennsylvania as the Green Party is filing local petitions at county election boards.)

...he should leave it alone. Trying to stop the recounting gives the effort more plausibility and publicity. My guess is that he's afraid it will take more votes off his lead and people will extrapolate that to other states and further taint the Trump "election" - which is okay with me.

because it'll be a constant stream of news to react to publicly and he'll have to come up with the money for a horde of lawyers to be present in 3 states and staff to monitor those lawyers.

HRC has to do the same, to protect her interests and rights. Stein gets a lot of money and publicity (when she won with more votes than HRC needed to win), and causes financial expenses to accrue to her former political rivals.

Don't know how much money those campaigns have left over. If they can't afford it, the DNC and RNC or state parties will pick it up. And if they spend money now, they'll have less for the next campaign. In which, no doubt, a Green will be running.

For her, it's a win-win-win. For those who are primarily pro-(D), it's a loss. For those more anti-(R) than pro-(D), it's a win.

Don't expect the totals to change much. Even in PA, what they're finding as they prepare the official results is that, as expected, the hastily assembled election-night tallies were wrong. They're typically most wrong where the election workers are less educated or more poorly trained. That's less likely to be in Westwood than in Compton, less likely to be in The Woodlands than in the 5th Ward.
