On what issues are Trump's positions better than Hillary's?

I can't think of a single one. I couldn't before the election, either. For me, that made Hillary Clinton a far superior candidate to get my vote. Now, that's not saying that Clinton went far enough on some issues, but I couldn't find a single thing that Trump wants to do that I can approve of in any way.

That's my dilemma in trying to figure out how and why Trump won over Hillary. I vote in elections for whichever of the candidates who have a chance of winning has the better positions on issues I care about or on issues that are important to others. That's how I've always made my voting decisions. I have assumed that others vote in similar ways.

Sometimes, I know that the candidate I support will not win. But, I cast my vote for the candidate I think is better in that election and who has at least some potential to win. So, I don't get 2016 at all. So, I'm asking this question in this thread. If anyone can come up with any issue where Trump had a better position, I'd like to hear it. I just can't think of any.

No truth or fact can sway them.

Many, many people believe exactly what they are told - in the papers, on the TV, from the pulpit.

Take a good dose of apathy - and there is the result.

Some of the sentiments he expresses are good. Support for working people. Opposing bad trade deals. But it's all vague, and he's famous for saying something and doing the opposite.

The man is impossible to pin down, except he is really high on himself. As to Sec Clinton, I was pleased to put our country in her hands. I felt her positions were sensible even those I didn't completely agree with. They were plain and easy to understand whereas this one is totally (as my son would say) whompyjawed. I can't define that but you can figure it out for yourself.

I'm not sure how many people actually went there, though. So often, I read here that Hillary didn't talk about issues enough. And yet, her website had position statements on almost all issues of any importance. Maybe some people weren't really interested in issues, after all. I don't know. It's frustrating, though, as I try to piece together why she lost.

It continues to make very little sense to me, sadly.

If you can't, then you will begin to see why we lost.

The average voter isn't going to visit her website, they need a short synopsis.

Illegal immigrants have been moving out of the USA, not into it.

Legal immigrants, on the other hand, are something else. I'm not sure why "native-born" Americans have any more right to jobs than immigrants who come here legally. Most "native-born" Americans are only a generation or three from their immigrant ancestry, anyhow. My great-grandfather on my father's side came to the US from Scotland to work in the mines. The great-grandfather on my mother's side immigrated from Ireland during the great wave of Irish immigrants.

We're all immigrants here, really. Only the Native Americans have a true birthright here, and they're discriminated against more than almost any group.

Hmm....

Other than that, he was making it up as he went along - no plan, no details, just a stream of (un?)consciousness BS.
