Cory Booker- 2014 NJ US Senator/2017 NJ Governor.

Any chance Booker-D runs for the US Senate(the seat currently held by Lautenberg-D) in 2014, wins the Democratic Primary and the November General Election. Then in 2017-when Christie-R is unable to run for re-election to a third term or his current Lt Governor is running for a first full term as Governor- Booker-D runs for NJ Governor in 2017 or 2021- gets elected to the NJ Governorship in either of those years. He appoints Donald Payne Jr. to suceed him in the US Senate in either 2018 or 2022.

how Democrats there might feel about him, but to plan on running for the Senate, planning not to complete the first term but to run for another office inside of three years, is dishonest. At least in my opinion.

The senate needs a more diverse look. The fact the only African-American will be a tea party member from South Carolina is shameful.

He feels he has a better chance of winning in the November General Election in 2014 US Senate Race instead of the 2013 NJ Governors Race against Christie.
Christie-R is going to win re-election in 2013 and then become POTUS in 2017.
Booker-D is waiting to see if Lautenberg-D decides to retire in 2014. If he does retire- he waits to see if Pallone-D runs for the open US Senate Seat. If Pallone-D runs. Booker-D skips the US Senate Race and runs for Governor in 2017.
If Lautenberg-D does not retire- He challenges Lautenberg-D in the Democratic Primary- Booker-D defeats Lautenberg-D in the Democratic Primary and wins the November General Election. Booker-D,if he is bored with the US Senate- can run for Governor in 2017-when Christie-R is gone to Washington DC or becomes a lobbyist. or he can run for Governor in 2025 (Booker-D would have served 2 terms in the US Senate). 2024-2032 is the time Booker-D decides to run for Federal Executive Branch.
Booker-D running for US Senate in 2014 to gain Foriegn Policy Experience and he runs for Governor in 2017 to remind voters that he enjoys being an Executive.

I had a congressman who I could trust to do the right thing. Now I'm going to have to make alot more phone calls.

I like Pallone too.

And they fucked me over big time legislatively (30th district, which is one of the reddest in the state). If I had lived two miles north I would have fared a lot better.

AT a local meeting, I joked around that Bruce Springsteen is the only Democrat with the $$ and name ID to take on Smith. I'd love to see him run for that seat but don't see it happening anytime soon.

I never really called Congress much because I know that Pallone (and Lautenberg and Menendez) and I are pretty much on the same page on the issues and did not have to worry about his vote. I guess Smith's office will soon have my # on the don't pick up list.

In fact, he's one of the weaker candidates. Barbara Buono and Stephen Sweeney have a better chance of beating Christie. NJ isn't Booker's fiefdom. He can't jump from post to post. He have many good representatives here.
