Like a different perspective on what happened?

I have a very smart friend who studied the election in depth. He traveled with the Democratic and GOP candidates on the primary trail and reported it as it happened. He's a retired financial consultant and active melon farmer living in southern Oregon. I have tried to coax him back into politics to no avail. I think you'll find his views refreshing.

1. He is very good at what he does.

Basically reality television. We are a nation of people hooked on that shit. They watch Duck Dynasty and read the National Enquirer. Our party failed to appreciate Trump as a very skilled scam artist.

2. we still fail at this. we constantly think HRC was a weak candidate

instead of thinking Trump is extraordinarily good at what he does, it makes me worry that we dont have the skills/ability to fight him over the next 4 years.

i had the same issues with Democrats in regard to Dubya. Easy to blame Gore and Kerry, but not enough people credited Dubya's team with being brilliant at manipulating bigotry

3. The delegitimizing of the media is a significant problem, giving even more power to the false news.

I expect that the repubes are developing a media propaganda war the likes of which we've never seen. They nearly lost power so now they're going to build an arsenal to more deeply divide off tRump's voters from the rest of us.

He seems to have a good psychological perception (apolitical) of why people voted for Trump, even though he does not make sense politically or morally and why he gets away with so much carp.
