17. Raising the debt ceiling is dangerous

What happens in your own life if you have spent every penny you have, charged all you charge cards to the limit, borrowed every penny you can from relatives and the bank and everywhere else you can get it, but you keep spending? We can't pay the debt now. We are borrowing almost half of every dollar we spend in this country. How can that possibly ever work out to be good for us?

and realize that the debt ceiling has nothing to do with money we WANT to spend, it is money that we ALREADY spent, and we now need to pay for it.
