that was a squeeker last time. This seems to indicate a better atmosphere for Dems than in 2010.

New York: Tim Bishop Poll Shows Him Up 17 Points
By Joshua Miller Posted at 9:45 a.m. today

A Democratic poll from late last month showed New York Rep. Tim Bishop, who won a squeaker of an election against businessman Randy Altschuler in 2010, faring quite well in their likely rematch this November.

The survey, done by for Bishop by respected firm Global Strategy Group, found the Democrat led Altschuler 53 percent to 36 percent among likely voters in New York’s 1st district, with 11 percent undecided.

Fifty-five percent of likely voters in the eastern Long Island district had a favorable opinion of Bishop, while 31 percent had an unfavorable impression of him. Altschuler had a 28 percent favorable/21 percent unfavorable split, according to the poll.

The live telephone poll of 402 likely general elections voters in the district was conducted March 20-25 and had a margin of error of 4.9 points.

lemme tell ya we're worried.

The good news is that the teabaggers aren't out in full force, and there aren't all those"Keep your hands out of my wallet" signs that were on all those lawns by this time last election. And we're ready for the onslaught.

Word has gotten out that Althshuler is a carpetbagger who couldn't win anything he ran for in Joisey, so he moved here (part-time) to take his chances with the rubes. Nobody knew much about him last time, but now they know a lot more-- and there's nothing good about him.

The bad news, though, is that Altschuler has a shitload of money coming in since this district is targeted by national Republicans as a relatively easy one since the last time Bishop won by only around 600 votes after a month or so of recounting.
