Repost:
In a barely-concealed leak to journalist Jeffrey Goldberg of The Atlantic magazine, Obama launched a stinging broadside against Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. Goldberg wrote that after the president was informed of Netanyahus decision to build in E-1, which would connect Jerusalem with Maaleh Adumim, Obama didnt even bother getting angry.
He told several people, Goldberg said, that this sort of behavior on Netanyahus part is what he has come to expect, and he suggested that he has become inured to what he sees as self-defeating policies of his Israeli counterpart. Furthermore, Goldberg noted, in Obamas view, Netanyahu is moving his country down a path toward near-total isolation.
... "This is not your run-of-themill arrogance. It is hostility wrapped in condescension and swathed in disdain. With this latest shot across Israels bow, the commanderin- chief has taken upon himself a new role, that of the conceited-in-chief...

I wonder if the writer sees the utter hypocrisy here.
Have they forgotten that Netanyahu starred in an ad broadcasted in Florida last year with a variant of Romney's own stump speeches?
("The world needs American strength, not apologies." )

Have they forgotten the red carpet treatment Romney received in Israel during a visit last year?
Have they forgotten how Netanyahu's office leaked reports that President Obama had declined to meet him for a hastily arranged visit to the US?
In fact, have they forgotten Netanyahu's soft campaigning for Romney during the penultimate stages of the election?
Like it or not, the President's observation is not new, and it is shared by many. A real friend would tell the truth, not act like psychopant. Netanyahu's hawkish policies are to blame here - it's that simple.

The JPost used to be considered a liberal publication. Since the late eighties it has no longer been considered that.
Official US policy has always been that Israeli settlements in occupied territory are an obstacle to peace.
The other problem is we do not know who these supposed sources are.
I prefer the credibility of Haartez than the JPost.
This is disturbing because the JPost is intentionally distorting of the original article by Goldberg which was from Bloomberg

(2,932 posts)It is about time he went after bad guys, especially ones who have had a go at him. While Netanyahu will most likely get elected, due to right wing tactics of scaring voters every election over there, there is no harm in making him sweat a bit.
