Fox News: Solar only works in Germany because it gets more sunlight than US (false)

Fox News gets dumber and dumber. Idiots!

From the network that brought you WMD in Iraq, we learn that sure, solar power works in wacky places like Germany, but it would never work in the US because the Germans, bronze gods that they are, get far more sunlight than gloomy, cold, rainy America. (Spoiler alert: It’s a lie.)

Anyone who has either lived in Europe, or spent time outside of the Mediterranean parts of Europe, knows that sunshine over here happens, but it’s hardly a daily occurrence. Especially in northern Europe. There’s a reason the Germans go to Greece for summer vacation, and not the other way around.

4 months ago? Hello, Faux, ever hear of the SUNSHINE STATE? Morons. Even on Long Island decades ago, some people had solar panels on their roofs.

being further north. In Alaska, even longer. So by her reasoning, Alaska should be better for solar power than the lower 48! Dang! Do they know?

Germany's on par with the western quarter of Washington state. Just about everywhere else in the continental US is better.

Since at least the time of ancient Greece, people have tried to tie Germany's shitty climate to the warlike, expansionist nature of the Germans themselves. Alexander the Great deliberately avoided messing with the people of central Europe, apparently feeling that he could conquer the entire rest of the world known to the Greeks first, in less time. He contented himself with scaring the hell out of them by crossing the Danube exactly once, then went after the Persians, who were a less formidable opponent.

One could argue that the past sixty years have been the most peaceful in the entirety of Central Europe's history, aided greatly by at least four occupying armies, no doubt, but quite possibly also helped along by reliable indoor heat, plumbing and lighting--something the Germans never enjoyed until now.

Just before World War I, both the Germans and the French realized that their uniforms should try to blend in with the sky, because the guy shooting at them would most likely be on the ground (or below it) firing at approaching troops on the horizon. The French therefore chose blue for their uniforms.

The Germans chose grey, because that is the color of the sky in Germany.
