NRA President: Yes, Go Ahead And Compare U.S. Pols To Hitler

The president of the National Rifle Association has weighed in: comparing American politicians with gun control proposals to Adolf Hitler is doing it right.

A day after pro-NRA protesters arrived at the state capitol in New York with signs equating Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) with Hitler, NRA president David Keene went on an Albany, NY radio station and defended them.

From the New York Daily News:

“Folks that are cognizant of the history, not just in Germany but elsewhere, look back to the history and say we can’t let that sort of thing happen here,” Keene said during an Albany radio appearance.

Keene’s point is a common one among gun rights activists, who often accuse supporters of gun control of going down the path to fascism. Jewish rights groups like the ADL have called on gun rights advocates to stop mentioning Hitler when talking about the American debate over gun control.

Hitler took guns away from Jews - not because they had guns, but because they were Jews. They took everything away from Jews. The average German gun owner was perfectly satisfied & happy with the policies of the Nazi Party. It this way they're similar to the average American gun owner.

The explanation that makes most sense in regards to the Jews is, he didn't want the German people to know he was killing Jews. Remember that the biggest death factory Hitler had wasn't in Germany...also, all his death factories were colocated with industrial plants so the smoke from the crematories could be explained as factory smoke, the trains as bringing things to and carrying them from the factories and so forth. Hitler could have just gunned down Jews in the streets, sent stormtroopers to murder Jews in their beds and so on...but the people would have known what was happening. To do what he did, he needed a disarmed Jewry.

If you google gun control in Germany, you will learn that for a non-Jew, the most liberal gun laws in German history were in place when Hitler was in power.
