However, today's 8 to 9 hour was devoted to Hugo Chavez and while I appreciate the wealth of expertise about him and South America displayed by panel members, I am just not that into the subject.

I'm watching less and less news or talk shows. Even the ones on MSNBC. I don't want to live in a never ending cycle of outrage, not even theirs. I've finally come to the conclusion that it's useless to fight stupid. Let's just vote them out and let them go on with their lives. They did it before.

During the worst of the Bush outrages Keith O. was a shining light in a very dark sky. I don't find anyone today as compelling. Now, I have rabbit ears and DU. Works for me.

Just reading DU makes me more up to date than anyone I work with or talk to. Some DUers are the smartest and savviest people I know.

memorable day. I wish I had done it earlier because I reside in a deep Red State (AZ) and have dealt with wing nuts all through the Bush years. Joining the DU community has made surviving the AZ crazies much easier. Take care.

EDIT: I had read about it in The Nation mag.

It's hard though for a real discussion to ensue when the other person is just spewing 100% lies.

Once the 2008 election was over, I didn't feel the same need to hurt my brain. I was always somewhat political, but the Bush years were something special and I just could not look away during that time. But after years of hearing the same people say different versions of the same thing every Sunday enough was enough. Besides, in the very unlikely event that anything of consequence is said on those shows, the information will show up on DU.

20. Jebbie's Not Doin' So Hot...

...the reason he did the "Full Ginsburg". You usually don't hit all the chattering class shows unless you want to make some big splash or buzz. Surely Jebbie's getting daily calls from Rove and fat cat donors and is believing the press clippings that he's the "savior" of the rushpublican party...also that it's his turn. I'm certain for years Jebbie has felt he should be President and that somehow he can "put the band back together" that helped his brother steal two elections. One problem...Jebbie is finding out this isn't the same rushpublican party he basically left in '06. I see them trying the same game they used in '99...lock up the money and endorsements early and then push all the others out of the way. I don't think this is gonna fly in the age of the teabaggers and Jebbie may be in for a dose of right wing reality in the months ahead.
