He didn't accept money from anyone. He stayed anonymous until now so that the focus would stay on Romney. He was initially more disturbed by Romney's comments about the factory he visited in China.

Mr. Prouty's first interview could not have gone better. While I worry for his safety, I know that there are those who are chosen or put in a position to alter the lives of many and they simply do it. I applaud his effort and he will be in my prayers.

Mr. Prouty is an amazing person. I thought his comments about how Mr. Romney should stop complaining about the election and do something to create jobs for the Americans who have lost jobs because of his vulture capitalism was really powerful. Wow. Just Wow.

And I too was more troubled by the comments about the Chinese factory than the 47%. Think about what he was saying about the purchase of a slave labor camp, what was his point exactly by bringing it up? His point was that look, this is our vision for the future, a world so terrible that workers will want to work in factories with barbed wire fences and guard towers for penies a day. It revealed that Romney is an evil and sick person. Much more disgusting than the 47% comment IMO, which was still awful too.
